and then sashiko stitching is added.

Modern Boro Runner Pattern

 Modern Boro is an interpretation of the Traditional Japanese Boro.

It is patched and stitched to completely cover a base fabric (Sarashi) whereas

Traditional Japanese Boro was fabric that was patched and stitched only 

where it had become worn. Modern Boro is more of an art form than a necessity.

This runner is 1.30 metres long and 35cm wide.

Sashiko Work Basket

This work basket is 8.5” high with a base that is a 12” by 7.5” oval. It is great to sit bedside your chair at nights with your latest project in, ready to picked up and worked on. 

It comes as a pattern for $20.00 or a kitset for $68.00. The kitset includes: the pattern the outer fabric, the lining fabric sashiko thread and needle. You will need to add Pellon or something similar for the padding.

I have kitted it up with indigo as shown in the photo above, a brighter indigo blue and a more blue/black version - as shown in the photo below. All are from my heavier Japanese woven fabric range which is perfect for bags.
